The Proxima DP8000 is a LCD projector that brings 3000 ANSI lumens, a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution alongside a contrast of 800:1. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 1500 hours before a replacement is necessary. A major advantage for professional installations is the ability to use interchangeable lenses, allowing the projector to adapt to highly varied projection distances. Which optic is required for a specific case can easily be calculated via the Lens Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 477 cm can be illuminated with 3000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 318 cm. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. The projector was released in 2001 and is officially no longer distributed by Proxima.
