The basic data of the Samsung SP D400S includes 4000 ANSI lumens, a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768 as well as a contrast of 3000:1. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 3000 hours. Regarding projection size, the value of 4000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 551 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 367 cm. A look at the data sheet confirms a very subtle fan noise for the projector at just 30 decibels. Since entering the market in 2008, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
