The SP A800B model is a LED-DLP projector from Samsung, intended for High-End Homecinema applications, offering 1000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 10000:1 at HDTV 1920 x 1080. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 2000 hours. A look at the light output reveals: The 1000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 321 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 214 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P. Regarding noise emissions, the model proves to be exceptionally quiet during operation, producing just 25 decibels. Since entering the market in 2007, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.

I have owned the Samsung since 2010.
Except for the defect of the lamp cover flap, the projector has not yet had any problems.
It now has approx. 3500h on the clock.
Very good picture, reference color reproduction, super black level and razor-sharp picture.

Top picture, reference colors + Full HD
A dream projector if you don‘t need or want to pay for UHD/4K. The picture is superb, the colors are a reference. I was able to buy mine cheaply at auction because it was slightly defective and repair the lamp flap, which turned it off if it didn‘t close.
The 8000 was the 3D version (I don‘t need it), the 900 was minimally improved, the 600 a good but not nearly equivalent economy version, the 400 only HD-ready, but still good.

The real reference projector for little money
I don‘t know who is talking such nonsense, there would hardly be any difference to its little brother.....There is a huge difference! The 800 is really awesome!!!

A800B Price/performance top!
The A800B is a real home theater projector. It makes Full HD movies really fun. Even compared to the much more expensive Runco projectors, for example, images with the Samsung A800B look razor-sharp!

RECOMMENDATION for A400B
Only the 400 version rated !
Absolutely recommend the device, great for Playstation3, in my opinion no difference to the A800B, and still a lot cheaper !
