As a projector, the XGIMI Aura 2 combines DLP technology with a resolution of UHD (4K2K) 3840 x 2160, and is additionally specified with 2576 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 1000000:1. This is a laser projector with a light source designed to last for 30000 hours – calculating to 20.5 years at four hours of use per day. The short-throw capabilities allow for large images at a short projection distance. According to specifications, a 2-meter wide image requires a distance of only 35 cm. To make performance data comparable based on the ISO lumen values, we calculated an approximate ANSI lumen value. Looking at practical performance, up to 516 cm can be illuminated with 2576 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 344 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content and 4K as well as 3D, meaning standard Blu-ray formats are processed effortlessly. Furthermore, the model is Bluetooth-enabled, allowing audio signals to be sent wirelessly to external speakers. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. Thanks to support for Chromecast, screen content can also be cast wirelessly from a smartphone, tablet, or PC to the screen.
