The projector SHOW WX by Microvision utilizes proven projection technology and, according to the spec sheet, achieves a contrast of 5000:1 at a resolution of WVGA 848 x 480. To reduce dependence on stationary power sources, the model is equipped with a built-in battery for autonomous operation. The projector was released in 2009 and is officially no longer distributed by Microvision.

The ShowWX uses the same projection technology as its predecessor:
Bi-axial MEMS Scanning Mirror Technology
This results in "black" (because unlit) horizontal lines at large projection distances, comparable to the fly screen effect of LCD projectors or video formats that only save every second line. The latter can be seen here: youtube.com/watch?v=ilTzwYkjdvY. As with the fly screen effect, this is only noticeable at a short viewing distance
As the projection distance decreases, the dark lines become narrower until they disappear. At even shorter distances, the image slowly becomes blurred because the laser beam is then wider than a single pixel.
However, both the lines and the blurring play a subordinate role in practice. For a comfortable image size/brightness, select a distance at which the lines are tolerable or almost non-existent.
