The projector HD66 by HongTianPao utilizes LCD technology and, according to the spec sheet, achieves 126 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 800:1 at a resolution of WVGA 800 x 480. According to HongTianPao, the lamp has a durability of 6000 hours – mathematically sufficient for 8.2 years based on two hours of use per day. To allow for cross-manufacturer brightness comparisons, the stated ANSI lumen value is based on a conversion of the lumen specifications. A look at the light output reveals: The 126 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 114 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 76 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. This device is no longer manufactured and has been removed from HongTianPao's current lineup. Note: According to our information, replacement lamps (original or generic) are no longer available for this projector.

My experience with the HD 66 is not satisfactory. I bought the projector because of the cheap replacement lamp (approx. 30-50 €)
I connected it to my laptop via VGA to watch movies, after about 20 hours the VGA connection was no longer recognized and no picture was received by the projector. The Playstation was connected to the projector with a component YUV plug, which also worked for about 20 hours, then there were short picture dropouts (2-3 seconds) and then the LCD was gone and only a white picture on the wall
The volume of the fans is more than noticeable, but when gaming and watching DVDs over the stereo system not necessarily disturbing, only in quiet movie scenes you can hear the fans clearly. But what bothers me the most is the poor resolution and contrast! Fonts are illegible and many details are simply lost due to the minimal contrast...
Overall, I wouldn‘t buy this projector again, as there are now good and inexpensive projectors from €300-400 and even as HD and contrast 10,000:1
Now my projector is defective in the room and will unfortunately end up in the recycling center soon - a pity about the resources used.....

HD 66 shipping new bulb
If you have problems with the HD66, I would contact Bagain24, which can be found on the Internet and also has replacement bulbs. The only thing that helps against the brown spots is to unscrew and clean the mirrors inside. I have recently had the problem that I only have a white picture, well my projector is already 2 years old.

Good for its price
It‘s a good projector, only the starter from the bulb is a bit loud at first. But the brightness and contrast 2 to 10 meters away from the screen are completely sufficient. Result: it is a good home theater projector. Ideal is the distance of 4-7 meters and on eBay for 155 € already cheap to have.

I would like to add to my report from 23.01.12 that a volume measurement at a distance of 1 meter resulted in a value of 48db.
I can only think of 3 things to say about the "Beamer tester" comment: Either you have a problem with your eavesdropping organ, you have logged in to the wrong projector with your rating or you are selling these projectors.
This projector forum has often given me very useful help with purchases for my club and relatives. Your post is nonsensical and not very helpful for buyers, as your statement is fictitious.
Writing your personal opinion is perfectly fine, but not if you gloss over the most serious, most noticeable defect. The device is still far too loud for a projector at an exceptionally low price.

Unfortunately too loud
I bought this projector by chance on ebay, brand new for 130 euros, including shipping. The device is perfectly adequate for watching normal DVDs in the evening. The picture is sharp, bright and well lit with a diagonal of approx. 3m. In direct comparison with my 16:9 Loewe TV, there are only minor differences in color quality.
Very annoying is the extreme volume of the fans, which can be drowned out by loud movie enjoyment with a surround system, but I live in an apartment building.
I find the projector unsuitable for Pc and game consoles, as the picture quality drops significantly in my attempts with this operating mode.
During the day you can only use it in darkened rooms.
Conclusion: Ideally suited for normal TV or video evenings in a detached house due to the low purchase price and sufficient picture quality. I would not buy the projector again because of the fan noise and the resulting problems with my living situation.

There is a small transparent plastic disk between the lamp and the lens which is scorched by the heat over time.
Unfortunately I haven‘t found a spare part on the internet yet.
If anyone knows where to get such a part, please send it to ....

Price/performance TOP!
Hey, I‘ve had the projector for a month now.
As many previous speakers have written: much too dark (who watches with a projector during the day???), so when I lie on the bed in the evening and play movies from the computer, the picture is top. Unfortunately you can forget about writing, it‘s not a FULL-HD projector for that.
Have a diagonal of ~2.5 meters and the picture is really TOP for the price (as far as movies are concerned).
Have also connected my PS2 yesterday, but it‘s just not designed for it, it can play svideo but the graphics (ps2-debt) bad. (anyone who has ever connected a PS2 to a 42 knows what I mean). With the PS3 and Drift it was an absolutely awesome picture compared to the 2s ...
Also conclusion: Mediocre projector not suitable for the whole day
P.S. The fans are not what makes the volume on the projector, but the lamp or the starter of the lamp. I completely dismantled it yesterday, removed the fan and it‘s still LOUD!!! So it‘s really loud even without the fan!!! A good system and a good position of the projector, but make it away (mine is 2m above the ground and 2 wooden walls underneath [from the shelf])
P.S.2: The projector still needs space to breathe, mine was dark for a short time yesterday because of self-protection. so it should have as much space as possible to suck in and out the air...otherwise it‘s dark ^^ maybe forever

If you know a thing or two about projectors, this beautiful device is not worth a look. I have never tested a worse projector and I have tested many, many products of this type.
Here it is written that the projector has a great price/performance ratio. NO it does not. For the same or even lower price I recommend the Acer X110 3D. The perfect BEAMER for every beginner

Except for the many connection options very bad
I had this projector turned on by my relatives for expensive money. and now I have the problem that I can‘t get it adjusted at a diagonal of 2.30m and about 20 cm below the ceiling. the instructions say that it can radiate upwards in a wedge shape, but it only radiates in a cone shape in both directions. I would have to hang it a good 70 cm from the ceiling to get a reasonably viewable picture. the fans are ultra loud. and the brightness of 1800 ansi lumen is, as i now know, ultra poor, which meant that i had to buy nine blinds to really darken the room completely. i will now buy a simple beamer with 2500 ansilumen for 400 € at mediamarkt and throw the Hd66 in the garbage can.

I‘m a bit confused because of the bad review of the projector here. The projector almost always receives superlative ratings on Ebay, and that with various sellers of this projector on Ebay. I ask myself, can so many buyers be wrong? After all, the projector is very cheap and a long-life replacement lamp is available for less than €20! Logic says that the projector can‘t compete with a 1000 € projector, but I think the price-performance ratio is unbeatable here!

the projector is well made. But the fans are really loud !!! but what can you say. On Ebay it is sold as a Full HD beamer which it is actually not at all it is only a VGA beamer with 800*600 Nativ. Then the built-in USB is also not the bringer because videos are not played back correctly some have sound hangers and others have picture hangers. So all in all, keep your hands off it!!! It‘s garbage. If you pay 250 euros for one of these, I‘d rather buy a good used device that doesn‘t cost more :). But you‘ll get a lot more out of it.

For the price absolutely OK
I bought the Bamer on Ebay for 230 eggs and am absolutely happy with it. However, since I only use it for real home cinema adventures or sporting events (I also have a TV for watching TV), i.e. I turn my sound system up to the max, the hairdryer doesn‘t bother me any more.
I can‘t complain about the picture either, everything runs perfectly via the HDMI cable - but you get eye cancer via SD, the same applies to the TV tuner.
The only thing that bothers me a little is that you occasionally have to adjust the settings from movie to movie, and there‘s some overlighting in particularly bright scenes, but that‘s bearable.
My conclusion: If you use the projector connected to a BD player, PS3 or HD reciver and have a decent sound system that drowns out the fan, there‘s nothing to complain about. At least not at this price, as there simply isn‘t a better projector for less than 500 euros. If you really want absolute Full HD enjoyment, you should go for an LCD TV anyway - except that at this price it won‘t be particularly big either

Bad binding quality, poor contrast, loud as hell, (almost) no adjustment options etc...
Fingers off!!!! Better to put the money into the down payment for a "real" home theater projector.

Offers many connection options up to iPod touch/iPhone with good picture quality, but the contrast could be a little better. Nevertheless, in combination with a good screen, it offers a satisfactory to good picture, as already mentioned.
There are certainly better devices, but they also cost more. If you want to get a taste of the whole thing and don‘t immediately panic because you don‘t have the best projector, you‘re certainly not making a mistake. The projector makes a robust impression and looks well made, but the design is a matter of taste. Movies can be seen even in slightly lit rooms, but darkened is better. I have mounted it under the ceiling so it has its fixed place. What bothers me the most are the fans, which could have been made a little quieter and are a bit annoying when watching quiet movies.
