The Formovie Cinema Edge is a 3D-Laser-DLP projector that brings 2128 ANSI lumens, a UHD (4K2K) 3840 x 2160 resolution alongside a contrast of 3000:1. With its built-in laser light source, the projector achieves a manufacturer-stated lifespan of 25000 hours, which translates to 17.1 years with 4 hours of daily use. With its built-in wide-angle optics, the device belongs to the category of short-throw projectors. An image width of 2 meters is realized from a short distance of 46 cm. To make performance data comparable based on the ISO lumen values, we calculated an approximate ANSI lumen value. Looking at practical performance, up to 469 cm can be illuminated with 2128 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 313 cm. Additionally, a built-in ambient light sensor measures the room lighting and automatically adjusts the projection settings. For media input, video signals up to 1080P and 4K as well as 3D are supported, meaning standard Blu-ray formats are processed effortlessly. Equipped with Google TV, the device provides direct access to a broad spectrum of streaming services. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. Since the projector supports Miracast and Airplay screen mirroring, video signals can also be streamed wirelessly from the end device.
