Hi,
Meanwhile I‘m online again...
I replaced the fans in winter 2008/2009.
The device was "out of action" for a good 3 months.
The work is actually only worthwhile for people who are really fit in the field, as you have to completely disassemble the device.
The built-in fans are some kind of "no-name" parts,
which I replaced with the orange "TT-8025A".
The difference is like "day & night".
The TTs are audible too, but it‘s on a par with a notebook.
Really quiet...
I also took the opportunity to clean up some "cold solder joints"
which made the quality of the picture even more bearable.
The colors and the black level at about 8m diagonal were subjectively much better.
The daylight beaming was also better at this size.
The picture looks much brighter and stronger.
Conclusion:
I would buy such a 7" If I could now find an efficient, inexpensive solution for Full HDTV for the projector,
and a "real" D-Sub card (for the PC connection, mine is a converted one with bayonet connectors) that would be the icing on the cake, because the device currently has just about 400 hours on the clock...

Questions for DJ Funnybone
Hello, I have the ecp3000. Have you already replaced the fans?
If so, is it worth the Sau work?
Do I have to pay attention to anything, or which Thermaltake fans are these?
Greetings and have fun beaming, tropfstop

ECP 4100? Thats it!
We bought a used 4100 in July 2007 on ebay. Of course, the thing was defective. But not in the sense of broken. Rather: a disease of the devices is a bad contact of the plug-in cards. I found this error very quickly and then calibrated the device. The illumination during the day is good, at night its great. The picture quality depends on the input used: on the one hand, I have a D-Box/FBas and a DVD player/SVideo in – on the other hand, I have a computer with 1280x1024 connected to it. The quality of the standard inputs is rather normal, as you can see the lines (but this is due to the technology, as with a TV). However, the quality from the computer is terrific. No lines, no interference... and you can read the writing like on a normal PC monitor (only larger). So sharp like a radish! Currently, I realize a diagonal of 3.50 meters, but I have already tested 8 meters. It is not suitable for daylight, but at night it is an awesome experience. Only the colors then become a bit dull and the black level is no longer so great. Conclusion: If you can get hold of such a device with (like me) about 250 operating hours, are familiar with the settings or want to learn how to use them, you should definitely get one, as they are available at a reasonable price. The only drawback to the device are the relatively loud fans, but I will soon be exchanging them for my inaudible Thermaltake. Its just a lot of work...
