Behind the name HD284 is a LED-DLP projector by Knoll Systems, whose main features include 1100 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2800:1 and a HDTV 1280 x 720 resolution. According to Knoll Systems, the lamp has a durability of 2000 hours. To compensate for angled projection positions, the model features 2D keystone correction, which digitally corrects trapezoidal distortion. Looking at practical performance, up to 337 cm can be illuminated with 1100 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 225 cm. The projector was released in 2005 and is officially no longer distributed by Knoll Systems.
