2 Stars Bad operating instructions
I wanted to play jpg files from my laptop via USB or
monitor cable. Unfortunately it didn‘t work.
Operator‘s manual doesn‘t give any instructions at all.
Perhaps a driver for the laptop is missing. Unfortunately
no manufacturer contact details in operating instructions.

1 Star Fire damage
Hello. I bought the projector and after 7 months I had a fire damage because of the device. Not recommended. I took the garbage out and when I came back the projector was spewing a cloud of melted plastic around the apartment. My dog and cat got away with it. Lousy Chinese garbage for 599 euros including incineration.

In addition, HD Ready means not only the display but also that it has an HDCP module, and that costs a lot of COAL because HDCP is patented...

And he writes it himself above

3 Stars HD Ready
Hello

how did you get the idea that HD Ready is not protected????

http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/HD_ready

Ein device that carries the HD Ready logo or is advertised with it has the minimum physical requirements needed to see HD quality (!!!!), i.e. not only to display a picture.

What you mean is HD capable, which is as good as nothing...

Whoever uses the HD logo and advertises a non-HD device with it has a warning faster than how he sent/sold the first device...

Don‘t know the above device therefore no opinion on it....

3 Stars Not everything it promises is true
it is not suitable for 110 volt, the bulb cannot ignite. The projector works at 220 volt and is not suitable for NTSC. Antenna cable can be connected directly, but reception is impossible. It only supports PAL.

1 Star Nachtrag HD-Ready
hmm HD-Ready is unfortunately not protected.

HD-Ready means that HD material CAN be displayed.

BUT you can even do that on almost all quarter-VGA 1.8 mini TFTs from
e.g. lilliput etc (native resolution 320 x 240) -

BUT THAT has nothing to do with an HD display.

therefore...

1 Star doesn‘t really get anything done
- too dark
- too pixelated
- too weak in color
- response time is probably still possible (it‘s in the eye of the beholder)

ANSI values are beyond good and bad. (9-point measurement method)

differences of up to 27% between bottom left and top right and more than approx. 81 lumens (peak) could not be found.

Where the 2200 lumens are supposed to be - no idea.(Maybe directly at the burner but it doesn‘t have that little)

Lumens are NOT equal to ANSI lumens.

Lumen = luminous flux
ASNI-Lumen = brightness / area (average of brightness, measured at 9 points calculated on the irradiated area)

Contrast:
is not correct either - is more like 27:1 full on/off
because: black level is bad, is 3 ANSI (good would be less than 1)
Contrast = brightness (average) divided by black level
approx. 80 lumens / 2.94 lumens = 27.55 : 1 contrast (nothing 800:1)

The cheap burner in the projector has a much too long arc (20mm)
- you can‘t produce a sharp image with it. (even the best cables/GraKas) are of no use here)
This lamp is at best suitable for a shop window spotlight,
and this type of metal halide lamp was also developed for this purpose.
The scaling - well - lower middle class - would work - if the lamp had a shorter arc (by the way: on ebay you can find these projector lamps called HQI-150 Watt for 5-9 Euros -
even cheaper than in SVIC‘s online store)

All in all a nice toy - but hardly worth a max. purchase value of 170-180 Euros. I wouldn‘t spend more on it than that.

There are better (albeit not as compact) projectors on the relevant DIY forums on the net. With better resolution and better values.

Greetings

Lichtbogen

Clearly, he likes to do it ^^

My Graka has a YUV output at the back, or it is split into the yuv cable, for this the beamer has a connection, the splitting also works from dvi output, just not from vga output, because it must be a component connection, not a composite, to achieve good quality!

2 Stars Not what I expected

At first everything is great, nice and big and not too loud thanks to a good stereo system. But I can‘t get it really sharp despite the VGA cable. everything remains either fragmented, with too much contrast or/and sharpness, or spongy. Especially the facial expressions of people in the background have to be guessed. it‘s just exhausting to watch a movie with this projector. if Phillip biette could explain to me again what magic trick he somehow did with the cables, I would be very grateful.

at 800*600 it‘s fine, but at higher resolution 1024*768 you can‘t read the smallest fonts clearly. Later with our 3LCD projector it is no problem at all.

How PC is not good? But it‘s fine via HDMI, isn‘t it?

5 Stars Comment from the seller
Hello everyone!

I‘m from China, just like the device. We have been importing various products in Germany for several years, e.g. car multimedia, mini TV. Some of them are really junk, but you always have to try something new, PITY.

To be honest, this projector is of satisfactory quality compared to other products.

The S700 series was previously sold by a company in Austria, and was called HD Ready at the time. This is certainly wrong. That‘s why we now call it HDTV Ready after we took it over.

The resolution is 800*480, suitable for TV, DVB-T, VHS or normal DVD, but not good for PC from 1024*768(For PC I personally recommend DLP projector).

The contrast and brightness are already top with LCD technology, they are particularly good with YUV. 1% of customers said it was too dark because they didn‘t remove the plastic protective cover.

The color is super adjusted, with TV or DVD it is even better than most branded goods.

The noise is different with every device, from 26 to even 50 db, you can‘t control it, but most are still close to 30 db (measure with a quiet environment and 1 meter away from the device). When the built-in speaker is running, you can hardly hear the fan.

The main optical systems (high voltage current, lamp, mirroring, LCD, iris, lens) are almost never defective. Most problems were caused by careless delivery. Screws loose, cable from plug out, fuse blown, loose contact, as well as software errors, the little things disappoint our customers and us once after other times.

But we have feedback every week! The manufacturer has already made many improvements. And we have also added extra QC in China

For the price, the projector is very good value! Just like Mr. Phillipp mentioned below, big brands also produce goods in China with the same technology and material. You pay 1/4 for the device, 1/4 for the service, and 1/2 for the brands!

We will soon also have 3LCD projectors and LED projectors. You can also find them later at www.svic.de.

All criticism and suggestion are welcome, but PLEASE not too critical for my German, thanks!

5 Stars Projector S720
So first something @GROBI Nord GmbH: The 720i are reached compressed, certainly not as good as if it were the physical resolution, but still acceptable!

The HDCP capability is given by the YUV (is HDTV) connection! My Graka, the 9800GTX has a connection that is plugged into these YUV connections with the gel. Cable can be split into these YUV connections! Of course, you won‘t get much with a VGA cable, but if you already have the good hardware, the projector can be very good! Even in daylight, you blind fish (no offense intended) should perhaps increase the contrast and brightness after installation, which is only set to 0 or one quarter on delivery!

Also, don‘t make everything bad just because it doesn‘t have a 4-story price, you can also produce good things cheaply, and maybe not charge so much for the brand name.

By the way, if you believe the argument that it‘s junk from china, then you shouldn‘t buy a projector, because Sony, for example, also produces in china, and it‘s almost as cheap as these things, you only pay for the brand name

Greetings
Philipp

1 Star Attention, the HD Ready logo is a mockery!!!
according to the website of this Chinese company, the projector has a physical resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, i.e. the 720 required vertical pixels in 16:9 format are not achieved. 2. an HDCP-capable HDMI input is missing. In other words, a clever choice of name (S720) creates the illusion of HDTV capability that is not actually present. Hands off!!!

5 Stars Question!
Hello! I have a question for everyone who owns this projector!

Is the projector recommendable?

How is the picture quality?

And what is it like when the light falls on it? Is there still something to see?

Thanks in advance for the info!

Mfg Lukas
