As a projector, the Ally DVB-T TV combines LCD technology with a resolution of SVGA 800 x 600, and is additionally specified with 1500 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 800:1. According to Ally, the included lamp lasts up to 6000 hours – mathematically sufficient for 8.2 years based on two hours of use per day. Looking at practical performance, up to 337 cm can be illuminated with 1500 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 225 cm. The projector was released in 2006 and is officially no longer distributed by Ally.
