As a projector for the Micro-Portabel sector, the Eeenfy Ares A1 is equipped with 600 ANSI lumens, a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution and a contrast of 3000:1. As an LED projector, the spec sheet indicates a lifespan of 30000 hours – equivalent to a usable life of 20.5 years at 4 hours a day. Should a perpendicular setup to the screen not be possible, the integrated keystone correction (horizontal and vertical) helps to realign the image into a perfect rectangle. A look at the light output reveals: The 600 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 249 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 166 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P and 4K are supported. Furthermore, the model is Bluetooth-enabled, allowing audio signals to be sent wirelessly to external speakers. Since the projector supports Miracast, Airplay and DLNA screen mirroring, video signals can also be streamed wirelessly from the end device.

In conjunction with a streaming box, it is actually usable for me, but only with its own operating system (not Android or Google TV). It is quite weak chest.
This is now the second mini projector of its kind that Ive been offered to test. I was actually able to adjust this one to my setup with the manual keystone control and the e-focus. 251cm wide screen at 147cm height at about 350 cm distance between projector and screen.
The picture is sufficiently bright for me and offers different colour modes from cold to warm. There is no gamma adjustment here. As long as I connect an external device via HDMI, I no longer have access to my own operating system and have only very few setting options. I dont have Netflix but I do have Prime Video and this is not played in HD or HDR. The remote control is very similar in size and shape to a Fire TV remote control. Alternative models from Ugoos and chromecast remote can be paired via Bluetooth but nothing happens! On the other hand, the own remote control works very well with my Nokia Streaming Box 8000 and can perform some important functions with it.
Prime Video worked smoothly but I couldnt really get the ARD and ZDF apps to work. It seemed to me as if I was operating the two apps via an external portal called Netrange and not via the phones own OS – as mentioned, there is no Playstore and 1GB of RAM with 8GB of ROM is not really much to make big leaps.
Ill probably continue to work well with my external player.
The image is quite natural, no exaggerated colours, clean texts and no noticeable shimmering or blurring, but despite the LED lamp, a clearly audible fan similar to a standard projector like my CASIO Laser or Epson EB , Hitachi XP.
My Qumi Q5 is almost silent as an LED projector.

Mein Conclusion: the ARES A1 is perfectly usable as a projector, but the operating system is not really my thing. It works much better with Android/Google TV than with this slimmed-down version. I have Fire Sticks and Cubes, as well as Mi and Nokia boxes, which are much better in terms of performance. Furthermore, I am not a fan of pseudo-prices, which are then reduced again with coupons and discounts. In this case, after double deduction, 249.99 ultimately only became 124.99 euros.
Today, the price is completely different again:
€199.99 minus €50 off with a coupon brings us to €149.99.
I give the software and the pricing policy one star each!
