The projector LS500W by Viewsonic utilizes DLP technology and, according to the spec sheet, achieves 1250 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 3000000:1 at a resolution of WXGA 1280 x 800. The LED unit of this model is rated for up to 30000 hours of runtime. Daily use of 4 hours makes an operational lifespan of over 20.5 years possible. Because the manufacturer specifies brightness in LED lumen values, we have determined an ANSI lumen value for better comparability. A look at the light output reveals: The 1250 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 359 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 239 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported, and also offers the technical capability for 360° projection. In the specifications, the operating noise is listed at a mere 30 decibels, indicating very quiet cooling. Since entering the market in 2022, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
