The VPL PX15 model from Sony combines LCD technology in the Standard-Portabel sector with 2000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 380:1 and a native XGA 1024 x 768 resolution. According to Sony, the lamp has a durability of 1500 hours. For maximum setup flexibility, the model supports optional interchangeable lenses, meaning the optics can be precisely matched to individual on-site requirements. Suitable distances can be determined using the Projector Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 389 cm can be illuminated with 2000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 259 cm. As an additional feature, an integrated media player enables the direct playback of files without an external source device. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. This model dates back to 2001 and is no longer part of Sony's current product range.
