As a projector, the Epson EB 580 combines LCD technology with a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768, and is additionally specified with 3200 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 1000:1. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 4000 hours before a replacement is necessary. With two hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 5.5 years. With its short projection distance, the short-throw model excels in smaller rooms, requiring only 62 cm of wall distance for an image width of 2 meters. Looking at practical performance, up to 493 cm can be illuminated with 3200 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 329 cm. Thanks to MHL support, screen content from mobile devices can be transmitted via cable, including charging power for the device. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. Since entering the market in 2014, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model. However, it remains frequently searched within our database.
