With the MP 1400, Compaq offers a DLP projector that features 700 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 400:1 and a resolution of SVGA 800 x 600. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 1000 hours. Regarding projection size, the value of 700 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 230 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 153 cm. The model is currently no longer actively offered on the market by the manufacturer.

I‘ve been using "the little one" as a leisure projector for some time now, often when I‘m out and about. It can still keep up and has never let me down. The picture is really great up to 2m wide and on a laptop with a CD inserted it‘s a home theater in the hotel room. The device is also very robust and can cope with such activities, including nights in the car at -15° or during the day in the blazing sun, without complaint. The image illumination is very even and the light intensity and contrast are absolutely ok for videos. You just notice the difference between a brand product like Compaq, with real measured values, in contrast to the crazy desired values of the Far Eastern noname "beamers". Some "HDMI Ready, 2,500 AL and contrast 1,500" boxes look very bad with a distorted picture
I think the Compaq will be with me for quite a while.

Update: Video input
You learn so quickly ;-)
I was looking for the original Compaq video adapter and couldn‘t find it.
The parts are available as a VGA adapter or similar from all possible suppliers for around 20 euros, or for 40 euros with a TV receiver and/or DVB receiver.
In this connection you can quickly set up a projector system for a few euros that can be seen up to 2x2m at any time.

Super PC projector with top picture
I have to admit that the picture quality surprises me in an absolutely positive way. Despite restrained values in brightness and contrast, the picture is outstandingly sharp and sufficiently bright for home theater on the PC: Input is only VGA, for other video sources you need a special multimedia adapter which I unfortunately could not find in Germany.
Despite this: For watching CDs or games in large format from the PC or other VGA source, the small one is definitely recommended.
Oh yes - the fan is a bit louder than on comparable models, but not so loud that it would seriously disturb.
Case, construction, etc. makes a very compact and valuable impression.
